In Locarno’s Piazza Grande—the beating heart of the International Film Festival and the site that hosted the 1925 Peace Conference among the major European powers—artist Attilio Wismer has created a silent, permanent installation: in the gaps in the pavement, he has embedded pebbles from different continents and from places significant to world cinema. A gesture invisible at first glance, yet capable of transforming the square into a symbolic center of the world, a testament to peaceful coexistence among peoples.
