Associazione Cristiano Castelletti, in collaboration with the Municipality of Muralto, is organising the conference The Spirit of Locarno and the Wars of Today featuring Aldo Sofia and Willy Baggi, journalists with extensive experience in international relations.
Nearly a century after the historic Locarno negotiations (5-16 October 1925), this conference will explore the significance and hopes inspired by the famous Locarno Treaties, which ushered in a brief yet intense period of political optimism in Europe. By comparing it with current conflicts, such as the war in Ukraine and tensions in the Middle East, the event aims to reflect on today’s challenges in achieving ceasefires, dialogue, and lasting peace agreements.
An opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of our present through the lens of history, featuring insights from two influential voices.
